The Easy Way to Improve Your Business

Small business marketingDo you want to know how to improve your business? Of course you do. We all want to improve our business, but it is easy to overcomplicate things. The keys to improving your business, and any other part of your life are incredibly simple.

What’s not working?

First you need to work out what’s not working. If you keep records for your business then you should have all the information you need. Look at everything from sales to marketing, operations and staffing. What’s not working?

Now stop doing it. Yes, it is that simple. If it’s not working, stop doing it.

What’s working?

Now look at what’s working. Again, go to your records to do your analysis. Figure out what’s working and then think about how you can do more of what’s working. How can you leverage what’s working? If something is working what else might work in your business? Take action on your findings.

What haven’t you tried yet?

Based on your analysis and findings look at what you haven’t yet tried. Make an educated guess at the likelihood of other things working. This can be new product lines, additional outsourcing, automation, different marketing strategies etc..

Use a process of trial, error, elimination and adoption to constantly improve your business.

1. Try it. Count the results/outcome.
2. Make an informed decision on whether something has been successful or not.
3. If it doesn’t work, eliminate it.
4. If it works, adopt it.
5. Repeat the process.

It’s that simple.
